Coconut Milk

Pure coconut milk with no preservatives, additives, or gums.


vegan – gluten free – organic


prep time: about 20 minutes from start to finish

cook time: 5 minutes for boiling water

creates: 4 cups



tools we use


  • pot for boiling water

  • high speed blender

  • nut milk bag or cheesecloth

  • container to strain into


things you need


  • 2 c hot water

  • 2 c room temp water

  • 2.5 c organic unsweetened medium shredded coconut


here’s how


  • heat water to a boil

  • put hot water and all coconut into a high speed blender, let sit for a couple of minutes

  • add room temperature water

  • blend on high for two minutes

  • strain the mixture using a nut milk bag or several layers of cheesecloth



helpful notes


  • be careful when blending hot liquids, make sure the lid is on tight

  • I let the mixture cool a little bit after pouring into the nut milk bag, during this time it strains itself quite a bit

  • plan to use up your milk within one week
